A Heartfelt Plea for Dorimell Woodard: A Mother, Grandmother, and Community Hero in Need
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi
For over two decades, Dorimell Woodard has been the heartbeat of her family, the backbone of her community, and a beacon of hope for those in need. Now, she needs our help.
A Lifelong Legacy of Love & Service
Dorimell is more than just a name—she’s a devoted mother, grandmother (soon to be great-grandmother!), entrepreneur, and community champion. As the owner of The Tax Clinic for over 20 years, she has helped countless families secure their financial futures. But her true passion lies in uplifting others.
As Co-Founder of United Neighborhood Improvement, Inc. (U.N.I.), Dorimell has:
Organized after-school and summer feeding programs so no child goes hungry.
Collected coats for the homeless during freezing winters.
Provided holiday toys for children who otherwise wouldn’t have any.
Rallied emergency water donations during local crises to keep families safe.
Her kindness knows no bounds—yet now, she faces the fight of her life.
A Critical Fight for Survival
After years of battling severe health complications, Dorimell has been told she needs a heart and kidney transplant to survive. Due to exhausting her insurance coverage, she was transferred from Baptist East Hospital in Memphis to Vanderbilt Transplant Hospital in Knoxville, where the lifesaving surgery will cost over $2 million.
But Dorimell isn’t just fighting for herself—she’s fighting for:
Her granddaughter, who is expecting twins this January—she dreams of holding those babies in her arms.
Her children and grandchildren, who rely on her strength and wisdom every day.
Her community, which still needs her tireless love and leadership.
How You Can Help
Dorimell has spent her life giving—now it’s our turn to give back. We’re raising funds to cover:
Transplant surgery & hospitalization costs
Anti-rejection medications & lifelong care
Travel & lodging for her family during treatment
Every dollar brings her closer to meeting her great-grandbabies and continuing her mission.
