My name is Maria, and the one in the picture is James G (when everything was good). I have known James for 21 years. James is a very good friend, humble, sweet, and hard working.
Unfortunately, James is facing now some very dire circumstances. For still unknown causes, he has swollen up to the point that his skin is breaking up and fluids are coming out. All his body, including his “private parts” have been affected by the lymphedema and edema. Some skin has died because of it, and he will have to undergo at least 4 surgeries to remove the dead skin and reconstruct what is left. He also has several kidney stones 14 cm big.
Obviously, he is in a lot of pain, and he can barely move or find a position in which he can be comfortable. He cannot sleep more than 30 minutes at a time. The second picture shows some of his skin lesions.
He hasn’t been able to work for a few months now, so he is in debt and unable to afford the most basic necessities, including groceries, rent, transportation, medical costs, etc. The surgeries will be more than a hour away from where he lives.
He lives alone, has no family of his own, and has no help.
