I suffer from muscle atrophy, POTS, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and I have survived 3 strokes. However, those strokes took most of my strength and my speech. And even though I have a very loving and supportive family, I need help. You see, because of the strokes, my saliva glands have been pushed into overdrive, meaning that I produce too much saliva, which causes me to drool and have to sleep sitting up or with a rag in my mouth.
This is getting to be too much for me, so I’m turning to surgery to help. However, I have to travel to a larger city to even get this done. But we only have my disability each month to depend on because I need 24-hour help, so my husband doesn’t work. If I get this surgery, I’ll need money for my husband to stay in a motel and for food for him. We will also need gas money.
And with how tight our funds are, it would take over a year just to save up. So instead of asking my family for help—they have already done so much—I figured I would try this. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m hoping. Thank you for taking the time to read about me, and I pray for everyone to have a good life.
