I’ve been very hesitant to share my story and ask for help, but I need your help! As most of my friends and family know, I loved my career as a nurse providing in-home care to medically challenged adults with developmental delays. During February, we had an outbreak of Influenza A and B and Covid-19 among my patients. Well, I wound up very sick with both Influenza A and Covid simultaneously. On March 4th, 2025, I suffered my first Type 2 heart attack from lack of oxygen. I’m lucky and grateful to be alive! My heart has permanent damage, and I’m in stage 3 heart failure. I am on continuous oxygen and now in chronic respiratory failure.
I was released from the CCU with doctor’s orders to not drive or lift more than 5 pounds. I have been unable to work and struggling to maintain my own activities of daily life and keep a positive outlook, only getting by thanks to help from my family and my faith!
On 6/1/2025, I had a second NSTEMI Type 2 heart attack. While hospitalized, I endured many tests showing further damage to my heart.
