Hi, my name is Natalie, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help saving my baby, Sonny.
Sonny isn’t just a pet; she’s my everything. She’s a 2-year-old Irish Doodle mix, full of love, anxiety, and the sweetest cuddles. She has this playful, energetic spirit, always wanting to play fight or curl up next to me. When I got her, I was still grieving the sudden loss of my first dog, Marley, who passed away in my arms after just one day of being sick. Sonny helped me heal, and now she needs me more than ever.
Over the past few days, Sonny started vomiting bile and refusing food. When her energy dropped and all she wanted to do was lay down, I rushed her to the emergency vet on the night of June 7th. We were there from 9 PM to 3 AM. The vet ran bloodwork, did X-rays, ultrasounds, and gave her an IV. That night, I heard the words I was dreading — she has a blockage and needs surgery.
They couldn’t tell exactly what the blockage is, but without surgery, it could be life-threatening. The cost for the procedure alone is estimated to be $8,000, not including medication or further care. Just the initial emergency visit and tests cost $2,000.
As an independent college student with a part-time job, I simply cannot afford this on my own. I’ve done everything I can, but I’m reaching my limits — emotionally and financially. I’m scared, I can’t sleep, and I barely leave the house because I don’t want to leave Sonny’s side. I’m terrified of reliving the heartbreak I went through with Marley.
If you can donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to both me and Sonny, as well as her older sister Luna, who also helped me when mourning the loss of Marley. And if you can’t donate, please share this — every bit of support matters. I just want to give my baby the chance to get better and live the long, playful, love-filled life she deserves.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being a part of Sonny’s story.
With all my heart,
Natalie xx
