Young Family Facing Overwhelming Medical & Home Costs

This is hard for us to write—because asking for help doesn’t come easy. But we’re in a place where we have to be honest, humble, and hopeful.

This past year has brought so much joy, but also some of the deepest struggles we’ve ever walked through. When I found out I was pregnant last January, we were excited and hopeful. But very quickly, that excitement turned into fear. I became severely ill early on in the pregnancy, and around 10 weeks, I was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and admitted for emergency care. It’s only by God’s grace that we didn’t lose our baby boy.

When he was born, he came into the world not breathing. Our hearts stopped as the doctors needed to resuscitate him and move him to the NICU. By another miracle, he made it—and we brought home our little fighter after three days in intensive care.

Since then, life hasn’t slowed down. I’ve had multiple emergency visits, including a fall down the stairs and back/neck issues that left me barely able to move. Trevor, my husband, has also needed emergency care. Medical bills from the pregnancy, birth, NICU, and our follow-up emergencies have piled up far beyond what we ever expected, and insurance isn’t covering much—it’s taken a toll on our family.

We bought our first home with hope and vision. It’s older and needs work, and we had set aside funds for repairs—but every dollar we saved is now going to medical debt and other debt that has accrued over the past 8 months. And the longer repairs are delayed, the worse the damage gets.

We’ve looked for help in every way we know how. Trevor has worked overtime and will continue to do so when he can. We don’t qualify for most assistance programs. I’m a full-time mom and full-time college student working toward my degree, and though I’d love to help financially, childcare would take nearly all of anything I could earn.

We are doing all we can. But right now, we’re stretched so thin that one unexpected expense could break us.

I know there are so many people hurting in the world. I know it’s not easy to give. But if you’re reading this and you feel led—please consider donating, even a small amount, to help us get rid of this burden. And if you can’t give, would you pray for us? Would you share this post so it can reach someone who might be able to help?

This is a vulnerable place to be in, but we believe in the power of community and kindness. We’re trusting that God will provide—and maybe, just maybe, He will use you.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
