Hi everyone, my name is Vikramaditya (Vik) Nakka, and I live in Huntington Station, New York. I’m writing this on behalf of my friend Abhilash, who lives in Hyderabad, India.
Before I share Abhilash’s story, I want to let you know that my wife Jhansi and I recently (on May 31) lost our twin babies due to a premature delivery at 6 months. It has been a heartbreaking experience. Tragically, my childhood friend Abhilash and his wife, Sravani, also had a premature delivery—at 7 months. Their daughter is currently in the NICU and has a fighting chance. This hits very close to home, and I’m truly praying that she grows strong and healthy. But they need our help.
Here is Abhilash and Sravani’s request to you all, in their own words:
⸻
My name is Devarai Abhilash, and I am writing this with a heart full of hope and a humble request to save my newborn baby’s life. I am raising funds for my precious daughter, who was born prematurely and is currently fighting for survival in the NICU at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
Due to the premature birth, our baby is extremely weak and requires continuous medical care, advanced monitoring, and life-support systems. The doctors have advised that she will need to stay in the NICU for several more weeks to gain strength and recover fully.
As a father, it is heartbreaking to see my little one struggling like this—connected to wires and machines—and not being able to hold her in my arms. But I am trying to stay strong for my baby and my family.
We have already spent ₹1,00,000 on initial medical care, but the total estimated cost of treatment is ₹20,00,000. Unfortunately, we do not have the financial means to bear such a huge expense on our own. We have used all our savings and borrowed as much as we could, but we still need help to continue her treatment.
That’s why I am reaching out to you today with folded hands and a father’s desperate plea. Please help us give our baby a chance at life. Your kind contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward her NICU stay, medications, and life-saving treatments.
If you’re not in a position to donate, I kindly ask you to share this message with your friends, family, and on social media. Every share helps us reach someone who might be able to support us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. With your help, I believe we can bring our baby home—safe and healthy.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Devarai Abhilash
Note: As I’m currently in India, I’ll personally ensure that all donations are securely delivered to him and used solely for his daughter’s medical care.
