Help Me Walk Without Pain: Double Knee Replacement Needed
Hi, my name is Kim Hendrix, and I’m reaching out with a humbled heart to ask for help during a very difficult time in my life.
I’ve been struggling with knee problems since the 9th grade — it all started back in the year 2000. Over the past 24 years, I’ve undergone three surgeries on my left knee and one on my right, doing everything I could to stay ahead of the pain and keep moving forward. But as my orthopedic doctor told me recently, we’ve only been putting “band-aids on the situation.” Now, at 40 years old, it’s finally time for total knee replacements in both knees.
Unfortunately, this comes at a time when I’m most vulnerable. Last year, I lost a job I held for 15 years, along with the health insurance that came with it. I’m currently working full-time at a desk job, but I do not have medical coverage, and the costs of surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation are more than I can afford on my own.
There are days I wake up with knees the size of cantaloupes, barely able to function or walk. The pain affects everything — from getting out of bed to doing the most basic daily tasks. It’s not just uncomfortable — it’s overwhelming and debilitating. I’m doing my best to stay strong, but I need help to finally fix the root of the problem and get back to living a life without constant pain.
I’m raising funds to help cover:
Double knee replacement surgery Around $43,872 waiting on final numbers
Hospital and surgical facility fees = for one knee $17,819
Doctor cost for one knee $2409.48
• Anesthesiologist for one knee $1109
I’ve never been great at asking for help, but I know I can’t do this alone. Any contribution — big or small — will bring me closer to finally standing on my own two feet, pain-free. If you can’t donate, a simple share of this page means the world to me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness and support give me hope for a healthier, stronger future.
With gratitude,
Kim Hendrix
