Help Us Install a Stair Chair for Safety

My name is James, and both my wife and I face daily challenges with mobility in our home. I am an amputee with one leg, and my wife has limited ability to go up and down stairs, especially after undergoing cancer treatment that included chemotherapy and radiation. These treatments left her with lasting effects that make it difficult for her to move between the living room downstairs and the bedroom and shower upstairs. Simple tasks like carrying laundry or other items up and down the stairs have become not only difficult, but also unsafe for both of us.

A stair chair would make a tremendous difference in our lives. It would allow us to safely and independently move between floors, carry essential items, and maintain our daily routines without the constant worry of falling or injury. In the past, my wife struggled greatly during her recovery, and I am limited in what I can carry due to my amputation. The risk of a fall is always present, and it’s a source of stress for both of us.

The funds raised will go toward purchasing and installing a stair chair, as well as enlarging the landing on our stairs to meet local building codes and ensure everything is safe and accessible.
