We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for Miguel Rene Valdes, who is bravely battling Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Recently, we received the devastating news that the cancer has metastasized to his bones, making this already difficult journey even more painful and uncertain.
Rene has always been the kind of person who lights up a room with his smile, kindness, and sense of humor. He’s a father, a partner, a friend, and a bright light in the lives of everyone who knows him. His strength, resilience, and spirit through this unimaginable journey have inspired us all, but now he needs our help more than ever.
The medical costs, treatments, medications, and day-to-day living expenses have placed an enormous financial burden on Rene and his family. In addition to all of this, Rene has a few dreams he still hopes to fulfill. At the top of his bucket list: visiting the Grand Canyon and experiencing the wonders of Yellowstone — two places he’s always dreamed of seeing. Time is precious, and we want to help make these moments possible for him.
His loving partner, Gina, has been by his side every step of the way. As Rene’s condition progresses, Gina will need to take time off work to provide care, comfort, and companionship during this critical time. This means a loss of income on top of the financial strain they’re already facing.
We’ve set up this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, bills, and to help Rene check a few special experiences off his bucket list while he still has the strength.
