Hi everyone,
My name is Cassandra Loizides and I’m writing today on behalf of my best friend Alexa (Lexi) Beausoleil, and her beloved dog, Layla Jean, who is in critical condition and urgently needs help. Layla Jean isn’t just a pet — she’s family. Layla just turned 7 years old this April. She is so young. She’s the kind of dog who lights up every room with her wagging tail, playful spirit, and extra sass. Right now, she’s fighting for her life, and we are doing everything we can to better her. She has already spent over $2,000 in Veterinarian costs.
Just a few weeks ago, Layla Jean was a completely normal dog. Out of nowhere she became extremely sick. She started sneezing blood (and clots) and was vividly moving slowly, almost lethargically. After rushing her to the vet, Lexi was given devastating news: her white blood cell count is zero. This means her immune system has completely collapsed, leaving her completely defenseless against any infection. It’s a terrifying and life-threatening situation.
Layla Jean is now being watched medically and goes for blood transfusion tomorrow morning, June 11, 2025, which is about $2,000 itself.
Realistically; she needs around-the-clock monitoring, IV antibiotics, lab work, and soon to come.. a blood transfusion (potentially many). The veterinarians are working hard to stabilize her and this condition, but the cost of her treatment is growing by the appointment — and it’s simply more than anyone can handle alone.
That’s why I’ve created this fundraiser — to reach out to our community and ask for help. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Layla’s medical care. We believe she can pull through with the right treatment, but we urgently need support to make that possible. Layla is family, even to my dogs and I, she is much more than just a pet to Lexi and her family as well.
If you’re able to donate — whether it’s $5, $50, or more — please know it will make a real difference. And even if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family would mean the world to us.
Layla Jean has given so much love to everyone around her. Now it’s our turn to fight for her.
With all our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support.

Cassandra Loizides
