Support Al’s Cancer Treatment Journey

My name is Al, and in January I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since then, life has changed dramatically. I’m currently undergoing androgen deprivation therapy, which has brought severe side effects that make daily life a challenge. Soon, I’ll begin proton radiation treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The center is 600 miles from my home, so each visit means a 1,200-mile round trip, time away from work, and significant travel and lodging expenses. The emotional and financial toll of this journey has been overwhelming, especially as I face it without much support.

What keeps me going is my family, especially my four grandsons. I want to be there for them and continue teaching them how to be respectful young men. They are my biggest motivation to fight through this. My hope is that, with successful treatment, I’ll have many more years to spend with them, guiding them and watching them grow.
