My name is Christie Behot and I’m trying to raise money for one of my family dogs to have a life saving surgery to remove a softball sized cancerous tumor from his chest cavity. Remi, our just turned 9 year old Border Collie, began drinking excessively a few months ago. When the behavior didn’t improve over time, we took him to our vet where upon radiographs, a massive tumor was found in his chest near his heart and lungs. Further diagnostics at Red Bank Vet Hospital in Hillsborough, NJ uncovered that this was a thymoma tumor on his thymus gland, a rare type of cancer that very few dogs get. Due to the nature of this particular type of cancer, removal surgery is his best option for survival. Given that the surgery would be rather intensive and invasive, having to saw through his ribcage to remove this large tumor, the cost will be very high and is very unexpected for my family. Remi is technically my aunts dog, she is a public school special Ed teacher in Newark, NJ. Remi is a very beloved member of our family and we’re trying to do everything in our power to help him have as many more years as he can. Any amount that you are able to donate is one more dollar towards Remi’s life saving surgery. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us save our boy.
