Hi everyone, my name’s Tyla. I’m Hayden’s aunt. Hayden is 19 years old and going through one of the toughest times of his life. He was just diagnosed with medulloblastoma last month. The onset of this cancer was very quick. Hayden had felt sick a week prior to him going to St. Anne’s, but not sick with a fever. He thought nothing of it: “occasional headache, neck pain, some dizziness upon standing, and nausea.” He thought he had vertigo.
On Sunday, May 25th, my mom and brother decided he needed to be seen at a hospital. When they got to St. Anne’s, they did a CAT scan and we were told he had a “lesion/mass” and that he needed to be transferred to Rhode Island Hospital. We were all terrified of what was next. Hayden endured two brain surgeries and now has to go up to Rhode Island for appointments very often.
Due to this, my mom (who has had primary custody of Hayden since he was 2) has to take off work and will no longer have any money coming in. Hayden and my mother will have to travel back and forth to Rhode Island for radiation and chemo.If you can donate, we appreciate EVERYTHING/ANYTHING.
