Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for support for my father, Edward Marquardt, a kind, selfless, and deeply compassionate man who is now facing one of the most difficult challenges of his life — the onset of memory loss and the urgent need for medical evaluation and ongoing care.
Edward has always been a beacon of strength and kindness, not just for our family, but for everyone fortunate enough to know him. Whether it was a neighbor in need, a friend going through a tough time, or a stranger who needed a helping hand, my dad never hesitated to step up. His heart is enormous, and throughout his life, he has always put others before himself — now it’s time we return the favor.
Over the past several months, we’ve noticed troubling changes in his memory and behavior — forgetting names, getting lost in familiar places, repeating conversations within minutes, and becoming increasingly confused and anxious. It has been heartbreaking to witness, and even more frightening to know that he is aware of it too.
We’ve started the process of getting him evaluated, but as many of you know, the costs associated with neurological testing, doctor visits, medications, and eventual long-term care can be overwhelming — especially when insurance only covers a fraction of what’s truly needed.
That’s why I’m asking for your help. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to cover:
Neurological and cognitive testing
Specialist appointments
Medications and treatment
Safety modifications to his living space
In-home care or memory care facility options
Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to making sure my dad gets the care he needs and deserves. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or on social media. Your support in any form means the world to us.
Edward has given so much to others during his life — his time, his wisdom, and his endless compassion. He deserves to be surrounded by the same kind of love and care now. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read his story and for being part of his support system.
With deep gratitude,
Dreux Marquardt
