Help Jeff Stay Mobile After His Wheelchair Van Was Totaled
Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out on behalf of our dear friend Jeff, a kind, spirited, and resilient man who navigates life from a wheelchair. If you know Jeff, you know his positivity lights up a room—and you also know how much he values his independence and connection to the world beyond his front door.
Unfortunately, Jeff’s world was shaken this week when his wheelchair-accessible van was totaled. While he was grocery shopping inside a local store, a driver in the parking lot hit and destroyed the van that Jeff and his family rely on daily. The van had a wheelchair lift that allowed him to safely get in and out, go to appointments, meet with friends, and enjoy some sense of freedom.
The accident has left Jeff without any way to get around. He can’t get to the store, his doctor, or even out for some fresh air and a change of scenery. As you can imagine, this loss has impacted not just his mobility, but his mental health and overall well-being. Being homebound and isolated can be incredibly difficult—especially when it happens so suddenly and unfairly.
We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to help rent a wheelchair-accessible van for Jeff in the weeks ahead while his family works through the long and costly process of replacing the totaled vehicle. A rental will allow Jeff to stay connected to his community, maintain his independence, and continue to live life with dignity while they sort through insurance claims and logistics.
Any amount you can contribute—no matter how small—makes a huge difference. And if you’re not in a position to donate, please consider sharing this with others who may be able to help.
Let’s show Jeff he’s not alone, and that his independence matters to all of us.
With gratitude,
Dan, Tom, Tara & Gerda
