Help the Wallace Family Through a Medical Crisis

Hi, I’m writing this for “My Best Friend Donna”—my sister in every way that counts—for over 30 years. I’ve known her since we were teenagers. We’ve stood by each other through all of life’s highs and lows, and today I’m writing this because her family needs help—and she’s too proud to ask for it herself.

Donna’s husband, Dean, has been battling serious heart issues since they were just 18 years old. I’ve watched him fight with strength, dignity, and love for his family through every twist and turn of his health. And now, at 49, Dean is facing one of the most critical chapters yet.

He is currently hospitalized and preparing for two heart procedures this week. He’s exhausted, in pain, and scared—but the most heartbreaking part? He’s out of sick time and PTO. While he fights for his life, he’s also worrying about how to support his family financially.

And Donna? She’s doing what she’s always done—holding it all together. But here’s what most people don’t see: she’s also been quietly battling her own medical issues. She doesn’t broadcast it. She shows up anyway. She keeps going, even when her body is telling her to rest. And now, the weight she’s carrying is simply too much for one person.

They’ve been married nearly three decades. They’ve raised two beautiful kids and are now proud grandparents. This isn’t a family that asks for handouts. They’ve always found a way to push through. But right now, they can’t do it alone.

I’m asking—on their behalf—for your help. Any amount, no matter how small, will go toward covering lost income, medical bills, travel to and from the hospital, and the everyday costs that don’t pause just because your world does.

If you know Donna and Dean, you know they are the kind of people who show up—for their friends, their family, and their community. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Please give if you can. Share if you’re able. And send them love as they face this storm together.

With love,

Amanda Bennett

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
