Help Donald Heal: Overcoming Cancer Together

Hi, we’re Lizzie and Donald Stewart. We’ve been together for over 10 years and got married in 2022. We thought the first year of marriage would be full of newlywed adventures, but in May of 2023, Donald was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma (LMS)—a rare and aggressive cancer.

The months that followed were some of the hardest of our lives. Donald went through intensive chemo and radiation, followed by major surgery in early 2024. He spent 21 days in the hospital recovering, and it took a long time, but things were finally starting to feel normal again. He was healing, hopeful, and we even had surgery scheduled to reduce the flap and begin restoring his leg.

But two weeks before that final surgery, we got devastating news: another mass had appeared.

After everything we’ve already been through, hearing that the cancer had come back hit us hard. Donald’s best chance of staying cancer-free is now to have his leg amputated below the knee. It’s terrifying, but we know it’s the right next step to give him a real shot at healing for good.

Donald is my rock—he’s been strong and steady through every appointment, every treatment, every setback. And I’ve done everything I can to be the warrior beside him. The last two years have tested us in every way, but they’ve also brought us closer than we’ve ever been. We’ve leaned on each other, cried together, and laughed when we could. We’re so proud of the life we’ve built, even through all of this.

Our family has been incredible throughout this journey—showing up in every way possible and helping us stay grounded when things felt overwhelming. We’re so grateful for their love and support.

We’re asking for help now because the cost of living through cancer is overwhelming. Between medical bills, time off work, gas back and forth to treatments, and keeping our home afloat, it’s more than we can manage on our own.

Any donation—big or small—will go toward medical expenses, lost wages, transportation, and helping us stay on our feet while Donald recovers from this life-changing surgery.

We know times are tough for everyone, and even if you can’t donate, sharing this page or keeping us in your thoughts means the world to us. Thank you for reading, and thank you for being part of our support system.

With love,

Lizzie & Donald

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
