Please help my wonderful friend kailyn in her Recovery

Hi, my name is Jason Vankirk.

I am a recovering addict/alcoholic. I have struggled off and on for 25 years and know that this disease is a daily battle. That being said, I have been around long enough to know when there is someone out there that I think can do a lot of good in this field with helping people, I do my best to try and help them. This brings me to my good friend Kailyn, who is currently in treatment for fentanyl addiction. She is highly intelligent, knowledgeable, generous, sweet-hearted, genuine, selfless, caring, a good listener with great advice, and very mature for her age. Trust me, I could go on forever. Lol. She is just a really good person that goes above and beyond, and I wholeheartedly believe in her and what she is capable of. She cares and really wants to help others in the same predicament as herself. Not just worrying, but actually putting in the time, effort, phone calls, and work to help people. If there were ever a person that deserves help, it is her. How she acts, her behaviors, and her attitude are exactly what we need in people recovering from this disease and willing to help others. She is a leader. She just may not know it yet, but she will. What she has done to help others in her short period of time being clean/sober is astounding. I want to do everything I can to keep this ball rolling and watch her evolve into the person I know she is and can be. I can’t even fathom how many people this woman will be able to help the longer she stays clean/sober. Along with a better understanding, education, comprehension, and an altogether growing knowledge of the disease over time, it will only compound her ability to help so many others that have struggled, are struggling, or know someone we love and care about that is struggling with the disease of alcoholism and/or addiction. She has all the unique attributes that will allow her to help where most don’t have any idea where to start. She has already taken the bull by the horns, so to speak, and has been plugging away at this all day, every day since going to rehab, as well as meetings, phone calls, and texts. This girl is moving forward, and I am trying to do everything I can think of to help her continue to move forward in her recovery so she can help others and not be held back due to a couple of COBRA premiums.

Her family paid her COBRA insurance premiums to get her into the rehab she wanted to go to and now the PHP where she wanted to go to and wants to stay for the remainder. PHP, IOP, and OP. She wants to stay as long as possible because she knows the longer she is in treatment, the better chance she has. She learned this from the drug counselors at rehab. She has until the end of June to pay July’s payment and then the end of July for August’s payment.

In order for her to stay in the facility she is currently in for another 2 months, she will need $900.00 a month for 2 months ($1800.00 in total) to pay for her COBRA, which also pays for her much-needed medication as well until she can get back to work.

Any and all help is so greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
