Support Sawyer, Aubree, and Emmi’s Medical Journey

When ones gets sick they all get sick. Sawyer decided to take things to a whole new level of sickness for her and her sisters. Sawyer was hospitalized about a week ago for chronic anemia which they think may be the result of Parvo. Once she got out of the hospital, Aubree and Emmi started to develop symptoms on Father’s Day. They ended up both being admitted to the hospital in Rapid after an urgent care and Sturgis ER visit. Aubree seemed to have gotten hit the worst out of the three when she was passing out more, especially when she passed out in her room on the peds floor which then sent her to the Advanced PICU unit where she stayed until her transfer via air flight to Sanford Children’s Hospital. Emmi, seemed to be less critical then Aubree and remained her in her room on the peds floor until she too, got transferred to Sanford Children’s Hospital. Aubree got transferred first and then Emmi followed behind her. They are both here in the hospital at Sanford. Emmi seems to be doing a little worse now then Aubree, or maybe she is finally catching up to her sister on being very acute sick.

As for Sawyer, she is slowly recovering as well. She is able to do repeat labs down here since their hematology doctor is here and can keep an eye on her recovery.

The girls both received blood transfusions and IV fluids. Aubree ended up getting four units and Emmi received two units. I am sure that is not the end of the blood transfusions while we are here. There will be a conversation about removing their spleens once they are feeling better, which may take place down there.

I have tried my best to keep everyone up to date on them via Facebook, but will do so on here as well. But we are 300+ miles away from home. Both Jonah and I are taking time of from work to be with the girls. Sawyer traveled down here with us. The expenses are going to start adding up with hotel stays and other expenses. We did not pack clothes for the girls so we will need to grab them stuff down here. I would never in a million years create a fundraiser page for myself or my girls, but since we have both of them here and each of them took a medical airflight ride and several hospital stays, I only thought that this might help off set some of the expenses for them. This will help with hotel stays, gas and activities to keep Sawyer busy.

Both girls are quarantined to their room until certain tests come back that allow them to leave their room. They are on the same floor as oncology patients. Jonah and I will take turns caring for the girls and keep Sawyer busy.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
