Many of you will know me, some of you won’t, but most of you will all know my best friend Jessica Ellerman and her husband Eric! Jessica and I have been each other’s “bat signal” for several decades and right now her family’s distress signal is bigger than ever.
Over the weekend, Eric suffered a SECOND stroke in 5 weeks—this time while supporting their son Trent at one of the biggest mountain bike races of the year. He was life-flighted from the resort, and doctors were able to remove multiple clots and place a stent in his carotid artery. He’s now recovering in the same hospital where they saved his life the first time—but the bounce back is not going as quickly. His body is tired. His brain needs more time. His doctors are recommending INPATIENT NEUROLOGICAL REHAB to give him the best shot at full recovery.
THE PROBLEM? It’s not covered under their health share program. The cost for rehab alone is staggering—$4,000–$5,000 per day—and most stays last 10–14 days.
And that’s just the beginning.
We haven’t even begun to see the full scope of expenses they’ll be facing—like the life flight, the repeated hospitalizations, additional therapies, and more. It’s overwhelming, and no family should have to make care decisions based on finances.
If you know Jessica, you know she’s the one who shows up for everyone else. She won’t ask for help—so I’m asking for her. For Eric. For their kids. For the chance to give him the care he needs without carrying a crushing financial burden on top of everything else.
If you’re able to give—even a little—it would mean the world. We all want Eric to make a FULL RECOVERY and right now, WE ARE HIS BEST HOPE! If you’d rather avoid fees, reach out to Jessica or myself for Venmo or Zelle options.
Let’s surround them with the same love they’ve shown so many of us.
With all my heart,
Jillian
