Hi, I’m Kaitlyn, Sarah’s sister-in-law, on behalf of the family. Sarah is fighting Stage 2B invasive breast cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes. She is facing at least 6 months of chemo treatment because if they did surgery right away, there is a 50% chance of her losing feeling in her arm. Because of Sarah’s age and job as a dental hygienist, that’s not a risk they can take.
Then, after chemo to hopefully shrink the tumors, she will be looking at surgery, possibly a lumpectomy or mastectomy, and radiation. She and her husband have two young children. Sarah works at a dental office, and Isaac is self-employed, so the insurance is not good. They are looking at a lot of medical bills up front.
Sarah may not be able to work through chemo treatments, and we want to ease those daily and monthly expenses along with the medical bills that have come and are to come, as much as possible, so she can focus on getting the treatment she needs to fight this thing! She has a very long road ahead. Sarah has never been one to ask anyone for anything, and that is why we’re coming together as a family to make this for her. She is such a loving and giving person and would do the same for anyone else in the situation.
