Hi, I’m Bruce—a proud disabled veteran—and I’m reaching out on behalf of the love of my life, my wife, who stood by me not only as my partner but also as my VA-designated caregiver.
Now it’s her time to fight—and mine to support her.
She has been approved for a liver transplant and has been waiting for over 70 days. We live in Eastport, Maine—more than 6 1/2 hours away from Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA—and the distance is holding us back. Just recently, her doctor told us plainly: “You’re too far. You must be closer.”
Hearing that was heartbreaking. We’ve waited patiently, hoping every phone call might be “the one.” But now we’re at a crossroads, facing the cost of relocating while already stretched thin.
We urgently need help with:
Temporary housing near Lahey Hospital
Meals during pre- and post-transplant recovery
Transportation and caregiving expenses
She’s been my strength and caregiver through my own toughest days. Now she needs our strength. Every donation—no matter the amount—helps us move one step closer to the care she needs. And even if you can’t give, please share this story so others might. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us.
Her husband, Bruce
