We are reaching out with heavy hearts but unwavering hope to support someone incredibly special – Sammy Macaulay.
Just as Sammy was preparing to celebrate a milestone so many high school seniors dream of – graduation, prom, and the exciting next steps of life – her world shifted again. Sammy was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, for the second time. She fought this battle once before with courage and grit, beat it, and went into remission. But now, it’s back.
This diagnosis came just as she should have been celebrating – prom, graduation, and the bright future ahead. Instead, Sammy and her family are facing unimaginable stress and worry. While they are grateful the cancer appears to be localized, the fight is far from over.
Chemotherapy will start immediately, and Sammy’s treatment journey is expected to be long and intense. On top of medical expenses, her family is now facing a significant loss of income as her parents step away from work to be by her side every step of the way. No family should have to choose between being present for their child and making ends meet. But if you know Sammy, you know this: Sammy is a fighter. She’s fierce, strong, resilient, and full of heart. She shows up with a smile and determination that inspires everyone around her. She doesn’t back down – not on the field, and not in life.
We are starting this fundraiser to help relieve the financial pressure on Sammy’s parents so they can focus on what truly matters: getting Sammy healthy again. Every single dollar will go toward medical bills, treatments, travel for care, and other unexpected expenses that come with a second cancer battle.
