Hello to my friends and family that may see this post but already know. This past January, I was several weeks into my accelerated registered nurse program and I experienced a seizure and spent the next 19 days in a neuro unit where they stabilized me and began months of outpatient investigation. Several weeks ago, I was rushed to UF immediately after watching my son walk across his high school graduation stage, accept his diploma, and officially graduate. UF found a mass in my brain and performed an emergency craniotomy. My family and fiance9 were informed shortly before I was in recovery that they removed a tumor and confirmed this past week that it was unfortunately a grade 4 Glioblastoma. This is a very hard-to-fight cancer and currently has a poor prognosis and life expectancy. As you can imagine, my fiance9 Aaron, our children, myself, and close family and friends are praying so hard for a miracle and for successful treatment, which is likely to be at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. We can expect radiation to start soon after all our consultations and treatment planning is complete. This may mean 6 weeks of 5 days a week radiation and close monitoring around the clock. After following the advice of close friends and considering all the potential scenarios with my family and our children, I am seeking donations to help in any way ease any financial burden on my family that may happen during treatment. Help with possibly renting near treatment for 6 weeks and help to cover any upcoming unknown costs. I have not personally been able to speak about this diagnosis with most because I’m still hopeful and faithful, but I am still adjusting to everything we have been told and my major operation just a couple of weeks ago. This platform suggests a starting amount and unfortunately, that’s about all I know. I’m just trying to set this up and anything anyone is able to donate, I am truly thankful for and appreciate from the bottom of my heart. Please also respect the privacy of my close family and friends at this time as many are still processing this diagnosis and also cannot speak on it at this time. I’m very blessed to have such an amazing support system, wonderful friends and family, amazing kids, and the most loving fiance9 who has personally rearranged his entire life and company to stay by my side and take care of me every moment possible. Thank you for your time and your support.
