There’s a sweet little girl I know who happens to be my great niece, Maxine Mae. She is four years old and a bundle of joyful personality. Her story is already a long and complicated and mirrors much of what our daughter Raegan went through almost 20 years ago. Her loving parents, RJ (my nephew) and his partner Miranda, have been doing everything possible to learn about Maxine’s significant health needs and make the best choices for therapy and health care.
After gathering multiple opinions, they have made the difficult choice to move forward with brain surgery to control epileptic seizures. By stopping seizures at this early age, they will maximize Maxine’s ability to learn and grow in the future.
They need your help! The surgery will take place at the end of August at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. This will require a significant amount of time off work, travel expenses and a temporary rental. Any amount will help relieve the stress of this extremely challenging experience. At a minimum, please pray for a successful surgical outcome and for peace in the hearts of her two wonderful parents.
