For those that don’t know me, my name is Randal Nichols, I’m an 34 year old carpenter, and have Avascular Necrosis in my left hip. This is a condition where the cartilage and bones in my hip have died and broken apart, leaving me walking bone on bone. I have a total hip replacement surgery scheduled for July 8th of 2025. My surgeon, Dr. Dowdle at Slocum Orthopedics in Eugene, Oregon, has informed me that I will not be able to return to work until 6 weeks after surgery. In Oregon, in order to receive temporary disability, I have to first have an employer, which due to my disability I’m unable to obtain. I’m asking for assistance in paying my bills for those 6 weeks. Including dog food, propane for my motorhome, any physical therapy instruments I’ll need for recovery, along with general bills associated with day to day life. I never thought that I would end up in a situation where I needed to make a fundraiser, as I’ve always been a hard worker and do my best to be self sufficient. But life and God had other plans. Anything is helpful, and I greatly appreciate anyone that’s even taken the time to read this.
