Care for My Friend Facing Sudden Loss

On Sunday July 26th, 2026, at 10:36PM, I received a call from my best friend of 31 years, Jazelle Cordell. I thought that call would be a conversation celebrating her 51st birthday that was only and hour and half away but when I answered my sweet friend, was crying and devasted as she had just found her husband of 10 years, Bennie Cordell, laying in the back yard, unresponsive. She called 911, and performed CPR until the ambulance arrived unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to revive him.
Jazelle has been on disability since 2015, when she suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm, where she was so blessed to survive but left her with permeant health deficits for the rest of her life.
Bennie had been fighting many health issues, had been on disability and was awaiting a doctors appointment to get diagnosed for his arrhythmia.
Unfortunately with their health issues they were struggling just to cover cost of everyday living and did not have any savings, pension, nor life insurance.
Jazelle is looking at the cost of final arrangements for her husband, she will have cost of moving somewhere that will be more compatible with her disabilities. Immediately she is looking at only having her disability check, which is only 1100 a month, burial cost , housing, utilities, grocery’s, transportation to doctors appointments as she does not drive, medications and so much more that 1100 will not cover. Jazelle has short term memories loss, mobility issues, anxiety, neuro fatigue, and other health issues that will not allow her to work even a PT job.
Jazelle has experienced so many heartbreaking, pivotal events, over the last 12 years that would break the strongest of person.
Her kind heart, caring nature, and all around beautiful soul, truly needs help. I started this Go Fund me in hopes of taking some of the immediate unexpected financial burdens off of her as she heals, and navigates through God’s new direction for her life.
