After running 500KM barefoot, cycling 1000KM, and completing a 25-hour continuous run, you’d think I’d be done. But we’re only just beginning.
In 2024, I was hit by a car while cycling. I broke my neck and sustained a traumatic brain injury. By nothing short of a miracle, I got to write my comeback story. And now, I’m determined to help others write theirs.
The Conquer the Cortex is a 300KM triathlon around the Okanagan Valley to raise money and awareness for people living with neurological injuries.
Why I’m Doing This?
The more invisible the struggle, the louder our advocacy needs to be. Unfortunately, those with neurological impairment often struggle with the very tasks required to access the appropriate services and succeed at rehab. We’re hoping to flip the script.
The money raised through Conquer the Cortex will go toward increasing access to neuro-rehabilitation resources through community partnerships.
How You Can Help
Whether it’s $5 or $500, every dollar helps.
If you’re not in a position to give financially, I’m also looking for in-kind donations, volunteers, and community support. This is a campaign for the community, and the more members we have involved, the greater the impact we’ll have.

Like all my events in the past, this isn’t about the distance we can endure, but the influence we can leave. It’s about leaving our comfort to bring about change, and finding a purpose that’s worth all the pain.
With gratitude,
Sav
