Georgia is 8 years old, and summer is her favorite season.
We usually spend it going on daily walks and weekend hikes together — it’s the highlight of both of our weeks. But this summer will look very different.
Georgia recently tore her CCL and needed TPLO surgery to walk again and not further advance her arthritis. I knew she needed it, no matter what, so I made it work using credit cards. Still, it’s been a financial stretch. I’m working two jobs, attending graduate school full-time, and living in a high-cost-of-living area — and I’ve finally reached the point where I need to ask for help.
Her surgery was performed on June 11th at Bridgeway Veterinary Specialists of Vancouver, and they took incredible care of her. The total came out to $6,500, and she still has two follow-up visits in New Westminster ahead, along with likely medication and supplies.
I’m asking for $7,300 to help cover the full cost of her recovery — the surgery, travel expenses, and anything else that comes up in her healing process.
Thank you so much for reading and for caring about Georgia. Any amount helps, and even just sharing this would mean the world.
