Hi, my name is Kyle, and I’m raising funds to help support my family as we navigate one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.
My mom was recently diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer (adenocarcinoma) and COPD. It was a devastating blow. She has already endured so much—after losing my dad to a sudden heart attack in 2011, she’s spent years battling depression and isolation. But a few years ago, something changed. When my daughter was born on May 2, 2023, my mom found new light in her life. She even quit smoking after decades—just so she could be here longer and be a better grandmother. That gesture meant the world to us.
Now, she’s struggling to breathe. She can’t drive long distances. She lives alone and needs help—not just with getting to treatments, but with day-to-day life. I want to be there for her, every step of the way. I want my daughter to have time with her grandma while she still can. I want my mom to be surrounded by family and love, not worry and loneliness.
But we need help.
Our car desperately needs repairs—about $4,000 worth—so that I can safely make the 2-hour round trip to her house regularly. I was about to start a new job this week, but with her diagnosis, I had to put that on hold to be her caregiver and help with everything from transportation to home upkeep. I’m currently without income, and we’re falling behind on our mortgage and everyday expenses.
We’re asking for $15,000 to help with:
• $4,000 for essential car repairs
• $8,000 for living expenses and mortgage support while I care for her
• $3,000 to set aside for eventual funeral expenses
