Hello, my name is Myrna.
On Wednesday, 5/28/25, I was just a regular 50-year-old woman heading home after a wonderful day spent with my daughter. On my way home, I was traveling on I-10 eastbound towards Houston. I was just one exit away from getting home when suddenly and unfortunately, I felt the impact! I had just been rear-ended by what seemed to be a very distracted driver. He did not see me slowing down to the traffic in front of me that I was approaching, and he slammed into the back of my car at probably full speed, which was about 65 mph. I was traveling at about 40 mph, so the impact was brutal and unfortunately caused a lot of damage to my vehicle and trauma to my body. I suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury that has left me paralyzed from the waist down along with a punctured lung.
This incident has definitely changed my life forever because there is no guarantee I will be able to walk again. My medical bills will be expensive as well as my new living expenses for the new life I now have to learn to adapt to. I decided to create this fundraiser in hopes that your generosity will help me in some way to alleviate those financial needs. Any little bit counts and is much appreciated! And if you can only pray for me and my recovery, then that’s a blessing for me as well.
