Hi everyone, my name is Elaine Hood and I’ve had COPD for 23 years. I’ve fought pneumonia off and on for several years. Since November 2024 I was admitted to the hospital and placed on oxygen 24/7.
I enjoy going to lawn and garden tractor pulls and the big Truck and Tractor pulls. My issue is the battery on the Inogen I’m buying from a friends mom is only good for 4 hours and when we go to the pulls we are gone anyway from 7 plus hours. To make to last I have to turn the machine off and when I have to walk I turn it on, and I can tell I’ve gone with out it. I can get a 12 hour battery plus a 3 year warranty for about $450.00. from Amazon.
Now oxygen is medicine, and here is what is said about it from Google AI
“generally not advisable to go on and off it without consulting your healthcare provider.
Here’s why:
Oxygen is a medication: Oxygen therapy is a medical treatment prescribed by a healthcare provider for specific conditions causing low blood oxygen levels (hypoxemia).
Maintaining oxygen levels is crucial: Your body needs a constant supply of oxygen to function properly. Low blood oxygen can strain the heart and brain, potentially leading to serious complications like heart failure, fatigue, confusion, and memory loss.
Potential risks of pausing oxygen therapy: Stopping or reducing oxygen therapy without professional guidance can be dangerous. If your body’s oxygen levels are low, even when you feel “fine,” it can still put your organs at risk.”
I can continue the way I am until I can’t anymore, or just become a “shut-in” now and I really don’t want to do that.
If I could get 90 people to just donate $5.00 each I would be able to get the bigger battery.
Thank you for reading and my each one be blessed.
Elaine
