At just 11 years old, Jiovanni Osbourne has been battling a life-threatening illness, Beta Thalassemia Major, for the past 6 years. He has been fighting this with more strength and courage than most adults can ever muster. After lots of testing and treatments, doctors have confirmed that a bone marrow transplant is the cure for him to live a normal and healthy life.
The procedure is complex, and the associated costs are staggering. Between the transplant itself, pre- and post-operative care, hospitalization, medications, and travel expenses, the total amount needed is US $600,000.
