Seven months ago, our friend, Antonio, had his world shattered when a drunk driver crashed into his car, killing his pregnant wife and infant child. He survived the crash but with devastating injuries to his arm—multiple fractures in his forearm and a broken shoulder that left him in excruciating pain. Antonio was taken to a small public hospital, where a poorly performed surgery left his arm mangled. Since then, he’s endured two serious bone infections, further surgeries, and months of suffering—physically, emotionally, and financially.
Antonio lost everything in that accident: his family, his health, and the life he had built. Unable to return to his former job due to his injury, he has been trying to keep himself afloat doing any job he could get using one arm. It wasn’t until my friend and I got him a hospital visit that Antonio finally got real answers. A specialist confirmed the worst: the pins in his arm were placed incorrectly and are the root cause of the infections. If they remain, he risks permanent loss of arm function—or worse.
The path forward is urgent and expensive. Antonio must first complete a 21-day course of medication to treat the current abscess in his arm. After that, he’ll undergo an x-ray, followed by a critical surgery to remove the pins and reset the bones correctly. Months of physical therapy will follow to help him regain function. Please consider donating to help cover the cost of his medication, surgery, therapy, and basic living expenses while he heals—giving Antonio a real chance at healing, dignity, and a future.
I appreciate anything you are able to give.
