Hi, my name is Elle, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my sister, Ashley.
In July of 2024, a plumber caused major water damage in Ashley’s home. Unfortunately, the restoration was done incorrectly, leading to widespread black mold and other toxic mold growth throughout her house—including in the AC system and all main living areas.
While still running her wedding planning business, Ashley also took on floral work for the rest of the year. During this time, she came into contact with infected roses while she had an open wound. By December of 2024, she was unknowingly experiencing neurological symptoms from the mold exposure and was soon after diagnosed with Raynaud’s Phenomenon.
Already immunocompromised from Hashimoto’s disease, Ashley’s health began to decline rapidly. She was diagnosed with invasive disseminated Aspergillosis and Sporotrichosis (Rose Gardener’s Disease), both requiring a year-long antifungal treatment. On top of that, she is also battling Lyme Disease and Morgellons, requiring long-term antibiotics.
Ashley has been physically unable to work since January 2025 and had to shut down both her floral and hairstyling businesses. She’s filed insurance claims that have all been denied and has maxed out her credit cards trying to uncover and address the mold problem. The house has now been reported to the state and is unsellable, leaving her with no safe place to recover.
Around the same time Ashley lost feeling in her body, her son Luca began suffering from a mysterious health issue—later linked to the same toxic environment.
This has been an incredibly painful and overwhelming journey, and Ashley is doing everything she can to fight for her health and stability. I’m asking for your support during this time—anything helps, and we are deeply grateful for any amount you can give.
