If you know her, you love her. Whether you call her Aunt Lu or Momma Lu, you know she’s the heart of every family gathering—always cooking up something warm, comforting, and full of love. Her laughter fills a room, and her door has always been open to anyone in need. Now it’s time for us to return that love.
Lorrie was recently diagnosed with bile duct cancer, also known as cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive disease that nearly took her life. Just a few weeks ago, she underwent a risky 20+ hour surgery to remove the infected bile duct, her entire gallbladder, and part of her liver. Her surgeon said that if she had waited even one more week, the tumor pressing on her main blood vessel would have taken her from us.
She made it through that critical surgery—but her journey is far from over. She now faces months of chemotherapy and radiation, and while she does have insurance, it’s only covering a small fraction of the overwhelming medical costs.
Aunt Lu and her husband are on a fixed income, and they’ve already spent thousands just to get her to this point. The stress of mounting bills is threatening to overshadow her focus on recovery. That’s where we come in.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
Cancer treatments (chemo and radiation)
Post-op care and medications
Travel and related medical expenses
Basic living costs while she recovers
