My name is Candace, and I’m reaching out for help to purchase a used vehicle after a life-changing accident. Last year, while riding my bike, I was struck from behind by a tow truck. Since then, I’ve been relying on public transportation and the kindness of two close friends to get to my doctor visits, support group meetings, and volunteer work. The accident left me with ongoing medical issues, making it difficult to walk or stand for long periods—something that’s unavoidable when using the bus.
Having a vehicle would restore my independence and allow me to continue giving back to my community. Volunteering at the shelter where I once lived is a big part of my life, and not having reliable transportation has made it much harder to stay involved. I’m truly grateful to be alive, and I want to keep moving forward, but I need a little help to do so. Any support will go directly toward purchasing a safe, reliable used car so I can regain my mobility and continue helping others.
