On June 19th, my brother Casey Nuffer suffered a devastating accident while working. He fell from a roof and sustained a catastrophic spinal cord injury. Casey was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY, where he underwent emergency spinal surgery. Casey is now paralyzed and will likely require a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Casey is currently facing a long hospital stay that could last days or even weeks, followed by intensive rehabilitation that will take months. This is a life-altering moment not just for Casey, but for his entire family.
Casey’s wife, Brandi, is now holding the pieces together for their family during this unimaginable time. Brandi is not only caring for their two young children—a 2-year-old and a 2-month-old baby—but also her two older children. She will be managing everything from medical decisions to travel, childcare, and financial uncertainty, all while being a source of strength for Casey.
We’re asking for your help to support Casey and Brandi as they navigate this incredibly difficult journey. The funds raised will go toward:
Hospital and medical bills not covered by insurance
Travel costs to and from Syracuse (over 1.5 hours away)
Lodging and meals while Brandi stays near the hospital
Childcare support for their four children
Long-term financial support as Casey adjusts to life with a disability and Brandi steps into a caregiving role
Casey has always been a hard worker and a loving husband and father. This tragedy has changed everything in an instant. Let’s show the Nuffer family that they are not alone—that their community is standing with them, ready to help however we can. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you cannot donate at this time, please consider sharing this campaign.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
With gratitude,
Chelsea Lloyd (Nuffer)
