In February of this year, Damien McCracken suffered a serious medical event that required him to undergo major brain surgery as well as numerous other procedures in the months that have followed. Since then, and against all odds, Damien has been working tirelessly as he relearns to stand, walk, talk, and swallow all over again.
After spending these many month at McMaster Children’s Hospital, Damien will be starting his long and difficult rehabilitation journey. He has already made progress in recovery therapy at the hospital, working hard to regain his strength and abilities that most of us take for granted. His resilience, determination, and spirit have inspired everyone around him—but the road ahead is challenging and costly.
To lessen the financial burden on Damien’s caregivers and family, we are raising funds to assist in the overwhelming costs associated with such a significant health event. Damien will be receiving rehabilitation in a facility that is outside of Niagara and quite a distance from home. Some of the potential costs could be medical equipment, mobility aids, home care support, transportation for caregivers and Damien, as well as living expenses during this time.
Any donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward helping Damien on his road to recovery. If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this page with others who might be able to help
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support. Together, we can help Damien take the next steps toward healing.
