I asked him to write the story of how he got where he is today. Here is Doug’s story in his words:
“Between December of 2018 and April 2025, I have had 6 abdominal surgeries. The last 2 surgeries (January and March 2025), the wound won’t heal closed, and I have had a wound vac for 5 months now.
Had to sell my dream home on 6 acres to keep ahead of medical debt.
In October 2024, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, and in December of 2024, I learned I have Parkinson’s disease. My best friend, who I owe the world to, has given me a place to stay for the last few years, but my mental health is suffering from not having my own place to call home.”
Doug is looking at more medical procedures in the near and not-so-near future.
He is asking for help so he can get a small trailer or mobile home and become self-supporting again. He is a great man that would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it
