My name is Mrs. Naomi N. L. Deemie, an obstetric clinician working with the Saclepea Comprehensive Health Center located in Saclepea City, Nimba County. This is my son, Doctor Emmanuel Lah Deemie, also known as Dr. C.K.A. He was born on the 16th day of March 2021 at SCHC by a teenage girl, age 15, who was referred by a local facility far away from Saclepea, about a 1 1/2 hour drive, because she could not deliver the baby after spending one day in labor at the clinic. This child was born through a cesarean section, and the parents refused to take him home because of his condition (hydrocephalus). They said he is not a human being, therefore, they cannot take him home. Having been close to them as a health provider, I developed love for this child and consulted my husband concerning my love for this child and my desire to take him and care for him, and he granted my request. This child has the right to live like anyone wishing to live. Since the 4th of March 2021, this child has been cared for by me and my family. My gratitude to Doctor Emmanuel Lah and his loving wife, Dr. Mrs. Lah.
This is the family that underwrote the cost of the shunt procedure, about 900+ USD, at the JFK Hospital in Monrovia in October 2012. To my children for accepting him, especially my baby Kuku, his playmate who was 2 years old when I took Eman, my husband and other family members, friends of Eman, my thanks to you all for giving me the strength to take care of him. It is my prayer and hope that one day my son can be like other children of my home to enjoy whatever we have as parents.
