In such a non-perfect world, Finn has gotten me through so much. During Covid, I lost my husband of 40 years after a month in the hospital. Finn was the reason I got out of bed in the morning. Finn is the reason I was able to move forward. Now Finn needs my help. He is only 5 years old. We used to walk 3 miles every day, but he’s not able to anymore. Finn has such a great personality; he’s very smart, he’s very protective, and he’s almost like a human the way he listens and does as you ask. But as I was explained to, it’s more than a probability; it was genetics. Finn has blown his right knee, he has undergone surgery on the right knee, and it’s doing very well. He’s like the poster child for orthopedic surgery for dogs. But in the course of this, he’s also blown the left knee and needs to have surgery done on that as well. Surgery is very expensive. It’s a 3 1/2 hour drive to get him to surgery in the next largest city to where we live. Surgery costs $3500 per leg. I have had the first one done and paid for that, but I’m struggling to get the second one done, and he deserves it. Some people would say he’s just a dog, put him down, but I can’t do that to him. He’s been there for me, so I’m asking for help to get the second surgery done. I have sought pet insurance, but because it’s pre-existing, they won’t cover it. Surgery has to be paid at the time of the service. So if you love your dog and your dog has been there for you, and you can find it in your heart to help my friend, I would gladly pay it forward.
