Frank is an incredibly caring and empathetic man who has faced unimaginable challenges over the past year. Last summer, while working hard to help others, Frank suffered a life-changing infection after cleaning a pool with a dead animal in it. Despite his best efforts and enduring eight surgeries, doctors ultimately had to amputate his leg below the knee. The journey has been long and painful, with months spent in and out of hospitals, fighting to save his feet and his health. Thankfully, Frank is now infection free, but the emotional and mental toll has been immense.
Living on a fixed income in New Jersey, Frank and I have struggled to make ends meet. He helps me with bills, even though I barely make enough as a waitress. The cost of a prosthetic leg is overwhelming, and Medicare only covers a portion, leaving us with a significant amount to pay out of pocket. Frank dreams of walking again, regaining his independence, and simply enjoying life—like taking a walk in the park or spending time with friends. Right now, he feels isolated and embarrassed, which has affected both his confidence and our relationship. Your support will help Frank get the prosthetic leg he needs to reclaim his life and move forward with hope.
