“I just want my life back.” — Laurie
Help Laurie get the stem cell transplant that could save her life
My name is Mick, and I’m reaching out with the most difficult plea I’ve ever had to make — not for myself, but for my wife, Laurie.
Laurie is the strongest, most compassionate woman I know. She has spent her life giving to others — caring for animals, volunteering, lifting up friends and family. But now, she’s the one who needs help. Laurie is fighting progressive multiple sclerosis, a brutal disease that is slowly taking everything from her — her movement, her energy, her independence.
She is now mostly confined to a wheelchair, suffering from constant fatigue, pain, and worsening symptoms that no treatment has been able to stop. Watching her deteriorate while trying to stay strong for her — for us — has been heartbreaking.
But there is hope: a stem cell transplant called HSCT. It’s not covered by insurance because it is considered experimental for the treatment of MS. It’s expensive — nearly $500,000 — but it has the potential to halt the disease and give Laurie a second chance at life. Not a cure, but a real chance to live without further decline.
When asked what she wants most, Laurie quietly said, “I just want my life back.”
This campaign is our last hope. I’m asking for your kindness — for your support, your prayers, your shares, and if possible, your donation. Every dollar brings us closer to saving Laurie’s future.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for believing in her.
