This has been an incredibly painful journey for Jayne and her family.
Jayne’s brother-in-law, a 64-year-old man with developmental disabilities and early signs of dementia, was placed in a personal care home after the death of his mother. The family was told Medicaid would begin covering the cost after 3 months. But it’s now been 20 months—and they’ve received no coverage, no support, and no clear answers.
Instead, they’ve been forced to come up with $2,000 every month, just to make sure he stays safe and cared for. Jayne has contacted every government office and program possible—only to be bounced around between agencies, with no real help.
Now, their family is exhausted—emotionally and financially. They’re not asking for $20,000 or even $2,000.
They’re just asking for $500 to help cover this month’s bill and keep their loved one in a stable home.
We’re asking for your help—whether it’s $5, $25, or simply sharing this with someone who might care.
