My daughter, Kimberly was the first child that made me a dad. She came into the world with a beautiful smile and a bold personality. The world was her oyster. She started ballet at a young age and eventually danced with the Atlanta Ballet. In her last years of high school she decided that she wanted to go in a different direction and gave up dance. After graduation she went to school to become an aesthetician and began her career working for Bobbi Brown, the cosmetics company.
Kimberly was doing well until August 2016 when she met a man that convinced her to move to Las Vegas with him. This began a cycle of abusive relationships. After two years she left that relationship. Several more abusive relationships continued. It was as if she was in self-destruct mode until her final abuser went too far.
In August 2024, after 24 hours of going in and out of concousness and bleeding from her head and ears, Kimberly’s boyfriend finally took her to the emergency room after claiming that she had fallen. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, Kimberly had to be life flighted to another location for treatment for a fractured skull, severe brain bleed, a broken clavicle, and two broken ribs. She was extremely fortunate to survive! Kimberly does not remember what happened to her. After examination, her doctor believed that she was a victim of domestic violence and called in a social worker. Initially in her recovery, Kimberly could not speak coherently, had lost her memory and was in a lot of pain. Her doctors were able to stop the brain bleed and felt that when the inflammation in her brain subsided, she would regain her speech and her memory would return. Six weeks after the incident, time in the ICU, and surgery to repair her broken clavicle, Kimberly was released to go home and in time, go back to work again. She left her abuser and drove for Uber for a period of time until she found her current job at a medical office.
Soon after her release from the hospital, Kimberly found a church and found Jesus. Kimberly has been working on rebuilding her life but her medical expenses, traumatic brain injury, and the expenses of living alone have become unmanageable. Kimberly recently lost her state-funded medical insurance which she needs to help continue the recovery from her brain injury. She is trying to remain strong but she cannot seem to get out of the financial hole that her past mistakes put her in. Kimberly is trusting God to provide the means because she so desperately wants to straighten her life out.
Kimberly would be so grateful for your support so that she can continue medical treatment and rebuild a fresh new life.
