Hi, my name is Koda!! I am a transman and I need help raising money for my top surgery fund. I’m an 18 year old, recent high school graduate who lives in Florida. I’ve known I was transgender since I was 12 years old, and have been taking HRT for over 3 years now!
My family has been going through a really rough time for a while, particularly regarding money. The surgery is going to cost around 12k and my insurance will not cover any of it. I have some savings, but not enough to cover the surgery entirely. This does not including travel fees and hotel stays, as my surgeon is in a different city, 5 hours away. I have a consultation set, and will hopefully be getting a surgery date soon. Given the current political climate, I want to get top surgery ASAP, especially because I live in FL!! I have no idea what’s going to happen in the next few months.
My mental health has been on the decline for a long time, mainly because of my dysphoria, and I know getting this surgery will help me so much. This procedure will be life saving, and is an essential part of my transition and overall well-being. Living with chest dysphoria has impacted every part of my life—my mental health, physical comfort, sense of self, and how I interact with the world and people around me. For years, I’ve done what I can to cope: binding daily, wearing layered clothing, avoiding mirrors, and limiting how I move in the world. Even taking showers has become difficult for me. It’s exhausting. This surgery isn’t just a medical procedure; it’s a life-changing milestone!!
