Between June 10 and June 11, 2025, our family’s circumstances changed drastically. On June 10 I (Elizabeth) was taken to the ER for chest pains. After several tests it was determined that I had muscle and skeletal strain in my chest area and needed to slow down and let it heal.
On June 11, my husband Michael woke up early to chest pain, went back to sleep and woke up two hours later with the same chest pain. He woke me up and had me take him to the ER. Initially, the test they performed didn’t show anything amiss until the second blood draw showed elevated heart enzymes, meaning according to the doctor he had a minor heart attack and was admitted to the hospital for further observation by a cardiologist. They did a heart Cath and discovered four of the arteries leading to the heart had major blockage, 100%,90%,85%, in the back side of the heart and one 80% on the front side of the heart. The doctor and his team were able to get stents in the three in the back and Michael has to go back in a little over a month to get a stent in the one on the front.
Now for the reason for this request. Michael has been our primary means of income and do not have any kind of medical insurance. Adding to the stress of not having medical insurance, we have been in financial struggles since Covid. We believe the stress of trying to make ends meet is what led to the medical situation that we are both facing.
This is not the path that we thought we would ever have to journey down. We can’t take this journey alone. Any help in taking care of the medical bills and other bills that arise from limited work would be appreciated.
