Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Michele, and her husband, Jim. Michele is someone who has always put others first and now needs support more than ever. On May 20th, we received the devastating news that she has cancer. After further testing, we learned it has already spread aggressively throughout her body — from her lungs to most of her bones, her kidney, abdominal wall, breasts, and lymph nodes. The cancer was discovered after she began having pain in her right shoulder, and scans revealed a mass invading her clavicle bone.
Michele is the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She’s spent her life showing up for others — friends, family, strangers — with compassion and generosity. Now, we have the chance to show up for her.
Because of the severity of the cancer, her treatment plan has to be intense and immediate. She’s taken short-term disability leave from work to begin treatment immediately, and Jim has taken FMLA, which is wonderful but only pays a percentage of his salary. This has already placed a heavy financial strain on them. The costs of chemotherapy, scans, medications, and follow-up care are mounting quickly.
We’re asking for your help to ease that burden so Michele can focus on the fight ahead. Every dollar raised will go directly toward her medical expenses. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping her in your prayers means just as much.
The doctors are optimistic, and fortunately, advancements in cancer treatment have significantly improved in recent years.
Michele is strong, and we believe in her ability to fight this — but no one should have to face something like this alone.
